Privacy Policy

Verova is designed to help you write better. We collect only what we need to run the product, and we never sell your data. This policy explains clearly what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
1. Who We Are
Verova ("Verova," "we," "us," or "our") is an AI-assisted writing tool operated as a sole proprietorship. We can be contacted at verova.info@gmail.com.
2. What We Collect
Account information
- Name and email address, provided when you sign up via Clerk (our authentication provider)
- Account identifiers (a unique Clerk user ID and an internal Verova user ID)
Content you create
- Messages you send in Verova conversations
- Documents and writing you generate or edit in the app
- Your writing profile — voice traits, tone descriptors, and themes extracted from your conversations
Usage data
- Events such as project creation, document generation, and subscription changes (stored in our
usage_logs table)
- Error logs and performance data collected via Sentry
- Approximate location (country/region) derived from IP address for analytics — not stored precisely
API interaction data
- Text sent to OpenAI's API to power conversation and document generation
- Text sent to Anthropic's API for certain writing assistance features
- Audio data sent to Deepgram's API when you use voice input (processed in real-time, not stored by Verova)
Payment information
- Subscription status and plan type (free/pro)
- LemonSqueezy customer and subscription IDs
- We never store credit card numbers or payment details — these are handled entirely by LemonSqueezy
Consent records
- Timestamp of when you accepted these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (
terms_accepted_at)
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve the Verova writing experience
- To maintain your writing profile across sessions so you never have to repeat yourself
- To process payments and manage your subscription via LemonSqueezy
- To send transactional emails (e.g., receipt, account notifications) via Clerk
- To diagnose errors and improve reliability via Sentry
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the product
We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not run targeted advertising.
4. How We Store Your Data
All user data — accounts, projects, conversations, and writing profiles — is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase, with servers located in the United States. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Our backend API is hosted on Railway. Our frontend applications are hosted on Vercel.
5. Third-Party Services
- Clerk — Authentication. Handles sign-up, login, and session management. Privacy policy

- OpenAI — AI conversation and document generation. Your messages may be processed by OpenAI's API under their data usage policies. Privacy policy

- Deepgram — Speech-to-text for voice input. Audio is processed in real-time and not stored by Verova or Deepgram beyond the request. Privacy policy
- LemonSqueezy — Payment processing and subscription management. Privacy policy
- Sentry — Error monitoring. Stack traces and user context may be included in error reports. Privacy policy
- Vercel — Frontend hosting and edge functions. Privacy policy

6. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active
- Conversation messages for completed projects older than 6 months are automatically deleted
- Usage logs are deleted after 1 year
- To delete your account, email verova.info@gmail.com — all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days
7. Cookies and Local Storage
Verova uses local storage (not cookies) to remember your preferences — including your theme selection (dark/light mode) and whether you've accepted this policy. Clerk uses session cookies to maintain your authentication state. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and data
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to certain processing activities
- Opt out of sale — we do not sell your data, but you may request confirmation

California residents: Verova does not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA. For CCPA requests, contact verova.info@gmail.com.
9. Children's Privacy
Verova is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Verova after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
